Pricing saffron is depended on many factors:
– the amount that has been harvested
– demand of Iran’s internal market
– the amount of exportable saffron
– the price of the dollar rate
– And so on.
Contrary to the expert’s prediction on reduction of saffron harvest, after almost 40 days since the beginning of the harvest, it has been reported that the harvest rate is raising compared to last year, and consequently due to the raise of harvest, saffron flower and dried saffron are facing a reduction of price.
Meanwhile with the reduction of saffron price in Iran due to the increase of harvested saffron, the price of dollar rate is getting higher and higher.
Now occurrence of these two primary factors contemporaneously caused a significant decrease of price for foreign costumers, for example the price of Super NEGIN (grade A) saffron dropped from 1250 dollars per kilo to 1050 dollars in these few last days.
