The vice president of national council of saffron announced that, with the entrance of new saffron and considering a predicated slump toward last year’s production, the prices has been increased extremely in markets.
“the minimum price in Iran’s market already reached to 8-18 million Tomans per kilo saffron and the maximum price begins at 17 million Tomans to 28.” He added, “we predict a slump in production and the purchase of saffron by investors has caused an increase in market since Rural Cooperative Organization announced that they undertook the buy of NEGIN saffron for 20 million and half per kilo.” He also adds “right now the prices are not steady, they constantly go up and down.”
“we cannot give a precise prediction about the future of the market until the end of harvest season, but due to this years’s drought conditions and reduction of products it’s obvious that the prices will be effected.” Says the vice president of national council of saffron.
Harvest continues until the second half of December.
He mentioned that harvest continues until the second half of December and continued “considering the drought and the loss of rain the production rate is deducing but we cannot give an exact percentage.”
